* The Desktop Package selection includes Office, Core Client Access License (CAL)
and Windows Desktop Operating System Upgrade. This selection includes discounted
pricing not available if you select these items individually and counts as three products
when calculating the total units for your order.
** Some of the server products are available Per Processor. Under the Per Processor model, you acquire a Processor License for each processor in the server on which the software is running. A Processor License includes access for an unlimited number of users to connect from either inside the local area network (LAN) or wide area network (WAN) or outside the firewall. You do not need to purchase additional server licenses, CALs, or Internet Connector Licenses. Get more information on server and CAL licensing.
Counting Eligible PCs
School Agreement requires an institution-wide commitment. To that end, you must include all of the eligible PCs in the participating school(s) or district. Eligible PCs include all of the Pentium machines, Power Macs, iMacs or better. You must also include any number of 486 machines or below and any Apple, UNIX, or Windows Terminals on which any of the software will be run.

For example, a school with 500 Pentiums, 200 iMacs, 200 386 machines and 200 Windows Terminals must include all 700 of their Pentiums and iMacs. They must then add the older machines on which they will run the School Agreement software. If they choose to include 100 of their 386 machines and 50 of their Windows Terminals, they would calculate the total number of eligible PCs as follows:

Minimum Order Requirement
The minimum requirement for placing an order for School Agreement Subscription license coverage is 300 units. Total units per order are determined by combining your desktop and CAL units with your server units. You can choose any individual product or combination of products to meet this requirement.
To determine your desktop and CAL units, multiply the total number of desktop and CAL products selected by your total number of eligible PCs. Unit values for desktop and CAL products are not weightedeach has a unit value of 1. (When calculating your desktop and CAL units, the "Desktop Package" counts as three products.)
For example, a school licensing 100 eligible PCs for Windows OS Upgrades, Office, and Core CAL would calculate their desktop and CAL units as follows:
For server products, you multiply the unit value for the server product by the number ordered. Each server product is assigned a specific unit value (see server chart below).
If the same school as in the example above orders two SQL Server Standard Processor Licenses, they would calculate their server units like this:
By combining their desktop and CAL units with their server units, they reach a total of 400 units-exceeding the 300 unit minimum requirement.
